WordPress Developer Sydney
Custom builds, tricky fixes and the deeper WordPress work other shops pass on.
Most web shops can install a WordPress theme and drop in your logo. Far fewer can actually develop in WordPress: fix the site that broke after an update, build the custom feature that no off-the-shelf plugin covers, or untangle a site that someone else has quietly turned into a mess. That deeper, technical work is what we have been doing for Sydney businesses for more than 20 years.
WordPress powers a huge share of the web for good reason, but it rewards people who genuinely know it. Core, themes, Elementor, WooCommerce, custom functionality, performance and security: the difference between a developer and a theme installer shows up the moment something non-standard is needed.
What we help with
- Custom builds. Sites designed around what your business actually needs, rather than bent to fit a template.
- Fixes and rescues. Sites that are broken, slow, hacked or held together with too many plugins.
- Custom features and integrations. When the standard plugins cannot do what you need, we build it.
- Speed and security. Making sites fast and keeping them safe, properly rather than with a single plugin and hope.
- Migrations. Moving hosts, changing themes, or consolidating several sites into one without losing your content or rankings.
When you need a developer, not just a designer
If you want a nice-looking brochure site, a designer is fine. You need a developer when the job goes beyond appearance: a booking system that talks to your calendar, a members area, a custom WooCommerce feature, a plugin conflict that has taken your site down, or a build that has to handle real traffic without falling over. That is the work most shops quietly pass on, and the work we take on.
Rescuing broken and hacked sites
A surprising amount of our developer work is cleaning up other people’s messes: sites that stopped working after an update, got infected with malware, or slowed to a crawl under the weight of forty plugins. We diagnose what actually went wrong, fix it properly rather than papering over it, and where it makes sense we simplify the site so it stops happening. If your site is currently down or misbehaving, that is squarely our department.
Local, and actually reachable
We are Sydney-based, so when something needs doing you are talking to a real developer here, not a ticket queue on the other side of the world. No lock-in contracts, clear pricing, and the technical depth to handle the jobs other shops avoid. It pairs naturally with our web design and our Australian hosting, so your build, your fixes and your hosting can all sit with one team.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a WordPress designer and a developer?
A designer focuses on how the site looks and lays out content, usually within a theme or page builder. A developer works underneath that: custom functionality, integrations, performance, security and fixing things that break. We do both, which matters when a job needs more than a theme.
Can you fix a site someone else built?
Yes, we do it often. We can take on a site built by another developer or agency, work out what is wrong, and fix or improve it. You do not need to have built it with us.
Do you work with Elementor?
Yes. We work with Elementor and Elementor Pro every day across hundreds of sites, as well as custom themes and blocks where that suits the project better.
My WordPress site is slow. Can you speed it up?
Usually, yes. Slow WordPress sites are often caused by heavy plugins, unoptimised images, poor hosting or bloated code, and we work through each of those methodically rather than installing one cache plugin and calling it done.
Do you offer ongoing support?
Yes, and without locking you in. You can have us on hand for updates, fixes and changes, or just call on us when you need to.
