Costs and Pricing
Real Australian price ranges for websites, SEO, hosting, maintenance and advertising, with an explanation of what sits behind every number.
Nobody in this industry likes publishing prices, which is exactly why buyers find it so hard to compare quotes. Two proposals for the same website can differ by $15,000 and both can be perfectly reasonable, because they are not describing the same job.
These guides give you real Australian ranges and, more usefully, explain what pushes a quote to the top or the bottom of its range. Read the relevant one before you take your first meeting and you will ask far better questions.

A note on how we price. Every figure in these guides is in Australian dollars. Where a price is quoted excluding GST we say so, because a ten per cent surprise at invoice time is nobody’s idea of transparent pricing.
Quick answers
Why do web design quotes vary so much?
Because the word website covers everything from a five page brochure site to a booking platform. The main drivers are the number of unique page templates, whether content is written for you, integrations with other systems, and how much strategy sits in front of the build.
Should I pay a monthly fee or a one off price?
Both models are legitimate. A one off build with separate hosting and maintenance gives you the cleanest ownership and the easiest exit. Bundled monthly plans lower the upfront cost but often lock you in for two or three years, so always ask what happens if you leave in month seven.
Are the cheapest options ever the right call?
Sometimes. If you are testing a new business idea and need something live this month, a simple fast build is a sensible decision. The mistake is spending a small amount on something that cannot grow, then paying again eighteen months later to replace it.
